Botox and Dysport are two types of cosmetic injectables that weaken and relax the muscles near the injection site. Both work by blocking a chemical called acetylcholine. These neurotoxins reduce muscle contraction, which causes wrinkles.
Dysport is more affordable
Although there are some major differences between Dysport and Botox, the two treatments are very similar and cost almost the same. A Dysport unit costs approximately 1/3 of the price of a Botox. Both neuromodulators work equally well and can be used for cosmetic purposes.
Although the treatments cost very little, Dysport's results are quicker and last longer. A person will notice visible results in two to three days. A Dysport treatment may be less expensive than multiple Botox procedures.
It diffuses more
Botox has a different effect on the skin than Dysport. Botox can stay within the injection site longer and lasts for a longer time, while Dysport spreads better and covers more area. This makes it better for treating larger areas and requires fewer injections. Botox's effectiveness may not be as high as Dysport.

Botox as well as Dysport both contain biologic processor protein. The proteins in these neuromodulators protect the toxin and keep it working properly. These proteins have an impact on how much toxin is injected, and how it diffuses.
It reduces glabella lines
Botox, also known as frown lines or glabellar, is a popular treatment that reduces forehead glabellar and frown lines. These lines are above the eyebrows, and are caused from the repeated movement in the brow muscles. This injectable treatment can reduce glabellar lines, and prevent new ones from forming. It can smoothen out existing lines.
Botox can last between three to four months and there is no downtime. You can see the results in two to three days. They last three to four more months. You can also use Juvederm to fill in glabellar lines. Juvederm, like Botox does not prevent glabellar wrinkles from developing. The injection smoothens existing lines and takes less than 10 min. This is the ideal treatment to treat stubborn glabellar line. The results last three to four month.
It is more efficient
Botox as well as Dysport can be used to treat wrinkles. However they do have differences. Dysport is less concentrated and spreads over a large area, whereas Botox is stronger and can be used in smaller areas like the forehead. There are two main differences between these injectables: how much they are used and how long it takes them to work.
Both products can cause bruising/swelling and can also cause side effects. Dysport patients need to be aware of potential side effects. For instance, bruising and swelling are normal, but patients should avoid lying down after the injection. Patients should not exercise for at minimum four hours after treatment. Although they are similar in their effects, they have different molecular and structural differences. Some people may experience side effects from either drug.

It is safer
Botox as well as Dysport can be effective, but there are risks. While both injectables can be used safely, it is important to talk with your doctor about potential side effects before you go under the needle. These neurotoxins are known to cause complications, including Botulinum toxicity, which occurs when an injection spreads to another part of the body.
Although the main ingredient is the same in both injections, the levels of trace proteins in each product make one treatment more efficient than the other. Both products are being further researched to find the safer and more effective. Botox is quicker to dry, but both injections can be administered in minutes. After the injection is complete you can leave the doctor's clinic.
